An ambitious secondary school in Newham is looking to appoint a STEM Graduate from 1st June 2026 on a full-time basis through to the end of the academic year in July 2026, with the possibility of extending from September. This role is ideal for a graduate with a strong academic background and previous child-centred experience who is looking to build valuable school-based experience within a high-performing secondary setting.
The school is recognised for its inclusive approach, strong SEND provision and excellent pupil progress across core subjects. With a Progress 8 score above national averages, the school has embedded targeted intervention programmes across Maths and Science to support pupils requiring additional academic support. Staff work closely with specialist teams to ensure students with SEND receive consistent classroom support and tailored intervention where required.
STEM Graduate – Immediate Start | Newham
£513.11 weekly via PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay)
What you will gain from the role:
• Full-time experience supporting KS3–KS4 students in a secondary setting
• Exposure to high-quality teaching across Maths and Science departments
• Ongoing CPD focused on SEND, behaviour management and classroom practice
• Opportunities to work alongside experienced teachers and intervention staff
• Potential routes into salaried teacher training or future school contracts
Key responsibilities include:
• Delivering targeted Maths and Science interventions to small groups
• Providing classroom support for students requiring additional guidance
• Supporting pupils with SEND to access lesson content effectively
• Monitoring engagement and communicating progress with teaching staff
The successful candidate will:
• Hold a strong STEM-related degree from a leading university
• Have strong communication skills and confidence working with young people
• Possess good child-centred experience in schools, tutoring or mentoring
• Demonstrate professionalism, initiative and a genuine interest in education
