HGV Mechanic / HGV Technician (Concrete Mixers & Plant) Location: Welwyn Garden City Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 + Overtime (OTE £55K+) Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 17:30 Job Type: Permanent HGV Mechanic / HGV Technician – Immediate Start We are actively recruiting for an experienced HGV Mechanic / HGV Technician to join a well-established operation running a fleet of HGVs, concrete mixers and specialist plant equipment. This is a workshop-based role in Welwyn Garden City with a modern, fully equipped facility and a stable, long-term workload. Fleet & Equipment You’ll be working on a fleet of ~15 units, including: Drum concrete mixers Volumetric concrete mixers 8-wheel tipper trucks Concrete pumps Predominantly DAF and Renault vehicles The Role Carry out PMI inspections (Planned Maintenance Inspections) Service, maintenance and repair of HGVs and plant equipment Fault finding and diagnostics (mechanical, hydraulic & electrical) Maintenance of mixers, volumetric units and concrete pumps MOT preparation and ensuring DVSA compliance Workshop-based with occasional breakdown support Requirements Experience as an HGV Mechanic / HGV Technician / Plant Fitter Strong knowledge of HGV maintenance and diagnostics Experience with hydraulics and electrical systems Exposure to mixers, tippers, plant or similar equipment advantageous Ability to work independently in a workshop environment NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent (preferred) Package £45,000 – £50,000 basic salary Overtime available (OTE £55K+) Long-term, stable position Modern workshop environment Varied work across HGV + specialist equipment Occasional Saturday work (as required) Apply Apply now for immediate consideration or contact us for a confidential discussion
