Role Description

In this role, you will be the General Manager on site, responsible for the smooth and commercially effective running of the studio. You will oversee daily operations, coordinate team workflows, and lead by example to deliver an exceptional customer experience that drives attendance, retention, and revenue. You will support and motivate staff performance, respond confidently to operational and customer issues as they arise, uphold health and safety standards, and ensure brand values and service expectations are consistently met across all areas of the business.


Leadership & Team Management

• Recruit, train, and develop high-performing team members

• Lead, motivate, and manage Front of House, instructors, and supervisors

• Conduct regular 1-2-1s, performance reviews, and team meetings

• Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture

• Manage rotas, payroll, and staffing levels effectively


Financial & Commercial Performance

• Drive revenue growth through memberships, retail, and upselling

• Manage and be accountable for site P&L performance

• Monitor KPIs including revenue, retention, utilisation, and conversion

• Identify and implement strategies to increase profitability

• Manage budgets and control costs


Sales & Member Experience

• Oversee lead management and conversion processes

• Ensure exceptional member journey from enquiry to retention

• Handle escalated complaints professionally and effectively

• Build strong relationships with members and local community partners


Operations & Compliance

• Ensure smooth day-to-day running of the site

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and brand consistency

• Ensure compliance with health & safety policies and procedures

• Manage equipment maintenance and facility standards

• Oversee stock control and inventory management


Marketing & Community Engagement

• Support marketing campaigns and local outreach initiatives

• Drive community events and partnerships

• Monitor competitor activity and local market trends

• Propose ideas to improve studio attendance and occupancy rates.

What are we looking for?

• Someone who has a solutions-based management approach

• Minimum 3 years of team management experience, ideally in the health, fitness, wellness, retail or hospitality sector

• Proven track record in managing change, building a team and developing talent

• Proven operational management experience, preferably in a fitness environment

• High-energy attitude with a passion for service

• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to work closely with a team to achieve collective goals

• Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail

• Able to work shift pattern, early, late and some weekends
