O&M Plant Manager

Alecto Recruitment is proud to partner with a leader in the Energy from Waste sector. Together we are seeking an experienced Plant Manager with experience in a similar sector to oversee the overall performance of the facility ensuring continuous safe and efficient operations.

Role and Responsibilities:
Direct and oversee all plant departments through the site leadership team, maintaining safe, efficient, and effective facility operations.
Monitor plant performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and deliver against financial targets and contractual commitments.
Own the plant P&L, manage budgets, control expenditure, and drive ongoing cost efficiency and profitability.
Maintain full compliance with environmental permits (PPC), HSE legislation, and all contractual obligations.
Serve as the principal point of contact for regulatory authorities, key stakeholders, and external agencies, with accountability for all site operations.
Champion a visible and proactive commitment to HSEQ across all levels of the organisation.
Foster a safe, compliant working environment through robust risk management and effective resource allocation.
Lead thorough root cause analyses and oversee the implementation of corrective actions to support continuous improvement.
Embed a positive safety culture and uphold strict adherence to all HSE policies, procedures, and standards.
Maintain rigorous HSE monitoring and reporting processes, ensuring full compliance with legal and permit obligations.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Postgraduate qualification in management is desirable.
IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent certification.
Substantial experience in a senior leadership capacity.
Demonstrable track record within Energy-from-Waste or related power generation sectors.
Solid financial acumen, spanning budget oversight, forecasting, and cost management.
Established leadership ability with a history of managing diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
Confident decision-maker with strong problem-solving capability in complex operational settings.
Skilled in stakeholder engagement with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
Highly adaptable with the composure and resilience to perform under pressure.
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills across all levels of an organisation.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard business applications.
A genuine commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
