Yard Operative

Location: North of Bedford (Transport Essential)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £26,500 per annum
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation within the construction and utilities supply sector. An opportunity has arisen for a Yard Operative to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys physical work, working outdoors, and being part of a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities:
Picking, packing, and preparing small and large items for hire and sale
Quality checking and cleaning equipment (including wet work)
Manual handling of materials and products
Maintaining a safe, tidy, and well-organised yard environment
Supporting installations, including occasional work on customer sites
Liaising with internal teams to ensure smooth operations
Adhering to high health & safety standards at all times
There may be occasions where overnight stays are required during installation work. xwzovoh Overtime is available.
Responsibilities:
Physically fit with a positive, can-do attitude
Willing to learn and develop skills within a construction-based environment
Reliable, hardworking, and able to work well as part of a team
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Counterbalance forklift licence and/or 7.5-tonne driving licence desirable but not essential
