About the role

Job reference: DH/44883-2Sector: Banking, Asset Management & Funds, Financial ServicesRegion: LondonClosing date: 2026-09-30This is an interesting opportunity for an Internal Auditor who is particularly interested in how AI, GenAI and Data Analytics can be used to improve the way Internal Audit operates. The successful candidate will join an established audit function, leading a range of business and technology-related audits while also playing an important role in helping the team develop its use of data and emerging technologies.Working closely with specialist colleagues focused on audit transformation, you will help identify opportunities to use AI and Data Analytics throughout the audit lifecycle, from planning and risk assessment through to testing, analysis and reporting. The role will suit someone who enjoys combining traditional audit judgement with technology and data and who is enthusiastic about how these areas will change Internal Audit over the coming years. You do not need to be an AI or Data Analytics specialist. However, you should have some practical exposure to areas such as GenAI, Copilot, data analytics, audit automation, SQL, Power BI or similar technologies, together with a genuine interest in developing your knowledge further. Experience using data to analyse populations, identify trends or anomalies, improve audit testing or make audit delivery more efficient would be particularly relevant.Alongside this, you should have good Internal Audit experience gained within financial services and be comfortable delivering and increasingly leading audits from planning through to reporting. Applications are likely to be particularly relevant from experienced Audit Managers looking to step up, or relatively recently promoted Senior Audit Managers who are looking for broader responsibility and continued career development.Previous experience of a particular financial services sector is less important than strong audit fundamentals, intellectual curiosity and an enthusiasm for using technology and data to improve assurance. The position operates on a hybrid basis, with an expectation of around three days per week in the London office. For further information or a confidential discussion, please apply or contact David Hornsby at Barclay Simpson.
