The job
- Workshop Labourer Working on the premises of a well-established precision engineering business , the work you dowill make sure the business is always running smoothly.

This is a working machine shop environment with heavy machinery, metal chippings, oil and lubricants and it can be hard work but you'll be working alongside a friendly colleague, the job is busy but not fastpacedand the work will be very varied.

Your duties will include amongst other things: removingswarf(metal chips or filings) from machinery; cutting metal bar and sheet metal to length and correct sizes; tidying workshop floor, washing floors and cleaning spills; operatinga forklift truck to load, unload and transport materials; cleaning and packing components; delivering products to customers using company van; some basic general buildings maintenance tasks as and when needed (painting, replacing light bulbs, general upkeep and basichandyperson-type jobs); somedeburringof machined components as and when needed and any associated duties as required.

Reporting to the Manager, your job will see you working on an engineering factory site, working with and around engineers operating precision machinery.

This is a busy and varied role for someone whoenjoys being busy at work,and for someone who has a keen interest in making sure that the facility is kept well stocked, clean, tidy and organised to make sure colleagues can carry out their working day in a safe and effective manner.

Experience of working in a similar engineering environment would be preferable, a driving licence is essential for this job.

If you alreadyholda forklift truck certificate, this would be an advantage but not essential.
