Programme Manager - Aerospace
£62,000 - £72,000 + bonus
Gloucestershire, UK | Aerospace | Permanent
Hybrid working - 3 days on-site
The role:
We are seeking a strong candidate who can be responsible for keeping major aerospace customer programmes running smoothly. This will be heavily focused on programme management, customer management, commercial ownership & and manufacturing coordination.
As a Programme Manager, you will be leading high-profile Original Equipment (OE) aerospace programmes, managing customer relationships, driving project delivery, and coordinating cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
You'll play a key role in ensuring programmes are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while supporting continuous improvement and long-term business growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading aerospace OE programmes with full responsibility for delivery, schedule, risk, and customer satisfaction
- Managing customer relationships and acting as the primary programme interface
- Leading Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality
- Driving product changes linked to obsolescence, reliability improvement, customer requests, and cost reduction initiatives
- Managing programme governance, reviews, reporting, and financial performance
- Supporting bids, proposals, pricing activities, and business growth initiatives
- Coordinating demand planning activities through the S&OP process
- Driving continuous improvement across programme and business processes
- Ensuring robust project controls covering scope, cost, risk, and schedule management
What We're Looking For
We're keen to speak with candidates who bring a strong blend of programme leadership, engineering understanding, and customer management experience within aerospace, defence, or advanced manufacturing environments.
You will ideally have:
- Proven Programme or Project Management experience within aerospace, defence, manufacturing, or engineering
- Experience leading cross-functional teams within a matrix organisation
- Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing, engineering, or product lifecycle environments
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, risk, and programme governance
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Business, or similar discipline (or equivalent experience)
- PRINCE2, PMI, APM, or equivalent project management qualification desirable
