About the role

Large construction company based in Herefordshire / Watford WD25 is looking for a skilled and experienced Van Mechanic for a full-time permanent position, working directly for the company. 🟠The successful applicant will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a busy fleet mostly Ford Transit vans, light commercial vehicles and company lorries general checks to keep the fleet operating safely and efficiently at all times. Carrying out full and interim vehicle servicing Engine repairs & replacements Gearbox, clutch and transmission repairs Brake system repairs including discs, pads, calipers and hydraulic faults Suspension and steering repairs Timing belt and timing chain replacement work Cooling system repairs including radiators, water pumps and thermostats Fuel system diagnostics and injector repairs Electrical fault finding and diagnostics using diagnostic equipment Repairing wiring faults, lighting systems and electrical components MOT preparation and vehicle inspections Welding, fabrication and general mechanical repairs where required Diagnosing faults quickly and efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime Maintaining accurate service and repair records Ensuring all fleet vehicles remain roadworthy and compliant with safety regulations Carrying out preventative maintenance and inspections across the fleet Experience working on Ford Transit vans preferred Good diagnostic and fault-finding abilities Proven track record with previous employers Reliable, hard-working and able to manage daily workshop demands 🟤 all fleet under 3 to 4 years old Paye or self employed optional (Do not apply unless you have proven track record with previous company , minium 5 years experience as a vehicle mechanic )
