About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher. You will work with students who have a range of special educational needs, delivering tailored lessons that support their academic, social, and emotional development. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to meet individual learning needs
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Monitor, assess, and report on student progress
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with children with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH)
- Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Experience in a specialist or mainstream SEN setting
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Additional SEN-related qualifications or training
