Job Overview

Jensen Hughes invites a talented Technical Director to join our London team to drive excellence across projects and deliver world‑class life‑safety solutions through 2026. As a senior professional Fire Engineer, you will be integral to our dynamic technical team, collaborate with forensic, design, building control and fire service partners, and lead client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain professional awareness of technical matters in the fire industry, assimilate and synthesize developing issues, and provide updates and briefings as required.
  • Guide fire engineering professionals, advise, and deliver complex solutions to large construction projects within leading consultancies.
  • Lead current and future projects, ensuring team financial targets are met and exceeded, while developing relationships with key clients and delivering fire‑safety engineering solutions.
  • Drive technical excellence, team engagement, and become the go‑to expert for clients.
  • Serve as the first point of call for clients.
  • Lead discussions with design teams, building control authorities, and fire services.
  • Attend industry conferences to network and stay abreast of trends and best practices.
  • Supervise and train graduate engineers.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Background in fire engineering, preferably in a consultancy environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Fire Engineering or a related discipline such as Mechanical Engineering.
  • Ideally a Chartered Engineer or working towards one.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Capability to undertake work independently.
  • Willingness and ability to mentor and manage junior professionals.
