People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.

This role would suit applicants seeking a position as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Shifts:

• Monday to Friday
• 05:00 starts

Rates of Pay:

• £16.48 per hour (basic)
• £24.72 per hour (after 48 hours)
• £25.00 per night out

Day-to-Day Duties:

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Carrying out RDC deliveries (curtain-side, no handball required)
• Operating and driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently
• Completing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all loads are correctly secured
• Adhering to UK traffic laws and transport regulations
• Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance issues
• Assisting with loading and unloading when required

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

• A valid UK Category CE driving licence
• A minimum of 24 months' experience driving Category CE vehicles
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no major endorsement codes)
• A valid UK CPC card and digital tachograph card
• A good level of spoken and written English
• Excellent punctuality and time-keeping skills
• A strong understanding of road safety and traffic regulations
• Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience:

• Previous commercial driving experience
• Previous multi-drop delivery experience

Training:

• Driver assessment required prior to starting
• One-day paid induction following a successful assessment
• Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
