Field Service Engineer (Mechanical / Electrical) Print Finishing Equipment Northern Based + National & Occasional International Travel Salary £38,000-£45,000 based on experience + package Due to continued growth, a well-established and highly regarded provider of print finishing and mailing solutions is looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer with a mechanical and/or electrical background. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business known for its technical expertise, high-quality equipment, and long-standing client relationships across the UK. This is a home-based role, ideally suited to an engineer based in the North of England, covering a mix of regional, national, and occasional international travel. The Role You’ll be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and fault-finding of a range of print finishing equipment, including: * Binding * Stitching * Laminating * Folding * Cutting machinery You’ll support a well-established customer base, working both independently and as part of a wider engineering team to deliver a high level of technical service. This is a hands-on role involving regular travel and occasional overnight stays, offering variety and autonomy in your day-to-day work. About You * Essential: Previous experience working as an engineer within the print, packaging, or similar FMCG/manufacturing environment * Either a site-based engineer looking to step into a field-based role, or an existing Field Service Engineer * Mechanical and/or electrical engineering skills with strong fault-finding ability * Keen to develop and build on existing technical knowledge * Comfortable working in a customer-facing role * Flexible approach to travel, including occasional working away * Full UK driving licence What’s on Offer * Starting salary £38,000-£45,000 (depending on experience) * Overtime paid at enhanced rates from day one * Company vehicle (hire car during probation, then choice of options) * 23 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing to 26 with service) * 4% employer pension contribution * Ongoing training and clear progression opportunities within a growing business This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to join a stable, well-respected company where you’ll be supported, developed, and given the opportunity to progress
