Role Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-paced automated production facility based in Leicester. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring maximum machinery uptime, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining high engineering and production standards across site.
This role would suit an engineer with experience working within automated manufacturing, FMCG, food production, or similar fast-moving environments.
Shift Pattern:
Rotating Monday–Friday shifts:
* Week 1: 6:00am – 2:00pm
* Week 2: 2:00pm – 10:00pm
* Every 4th week: 5:00am – 1:00pm

Role Responsibilities:
* Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns and carry out PPMs
* Support machinery installation, commissioning, and improvement projects
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve OEE, reliability, and machine performance
* Work collaboratively with production and operational teams to improve efficiency standards
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
* Identify root causes of recurring engineering issues and implement corrective actions
* Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, GMP, and hygiene standards
* Support site audit readiness and engineering compliance requirements
Requirements:
* Multi-skilled engineer with Electrical and/or Mechanical qualifications (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
* Minimum 3 years’ experience within an automated manufacturing environment
* Previous experience within FMCG, food manufacturing, packaging, or brewery environments preferred
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities
* Ability to work independently and within a team environment
* Proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
* Good communication and organisational skills
