Royal Mail Parcel Sorter – Northampton Parcel Sorting Centre Coach Transport from Birmingham City Centre Pertemps is supporting Royal Mail with warehouse recruitment at Northampton Parcel Sorting Centre. This is a temporary, hands-on role within a busy parcel operation, with additional shifts potentially available during busier periods.  Job Role: As a Parcel Sorter, you will work as part of a busy team handling parcels and mail within the sorting centre.  Key Responsibilities: Unloading mail and parcels from vehicles. Moving parcels and mail through the sorting centre. Sorting letters, parcels and other postal items. Loading and moving mail bags and parcels. Ensuring items are handled safely and efficiently. Working to tight deadlines in a busy environment. Moving between different tasks as required during your shift. Working effectively as part of a team. Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment. The role is physically demanding and involves being on your feet for most of the shift. You must be comfortable with: Pushing trolleys weighing up to 25kg. Lifting and moving mail bags weighing up to 11kg. Standing and walking for extended periods. Working in a fast-paced warehouse/sorting environment. Repeated lifting, moving and sorting of parcels and mail. Working Hours:  You will be required to work at least 5 shifts/ week (Monday to Sunday) on one shift; Morning Shift – 6am to 2pm -  £15.14ph Afternoon Shift – 2pm to 10pm - £15.14ph Night Shift – 10pm to 6am - £16.44ph Paid Travel Time: You will receive 2 hours of paid travel time per shift, paid at your shift pay rate; 1 hour travelling to the site 1 hour travelling back to Wolverhampton Important Information: Before proceeding with your application, please ensure that: You can commit to the assignment from the expected start date until the end of the assignment.
