Positive Behaviour Support Worker – £28,932.80 per annum (rising to £30,090 after successful completion of probation) – Croydon / South-East London

We’re looking for a Positive Behaviour Support Worker to join the team at Quo Vadis Trust, supporting adults on their journey towards independence and recovery.
Please note: This role does not offer visa sponsorship, so applicants must already have the right to work in the UK.

Quo Vadis Trust is a specialist housing charity supporting people across South-East London who are living with mental health challenges and behaviours that may be difficult to manage.
The focus is simple but powerful: help people rebuild their lives, regain independence, and feel part of a community again. Every individual is supported in a way that reflects their personal history, needs, and goals.
Working Pattern
Full-time – 35 hours per week
Day shifts with occasional night shifts
Weekend and rota-based working required
What You’ll Be Doing
Build strong, trusting relationships with clients
Support individuals with mental health needs including anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder
Help clients develop personalised support plans and set achievable goals
Encourage engagement with recovery and independent living
Assist with housing, welfare, and benefits advice
Support clients with daily living tasks and maintaining their accommodation
Carry out property checks, health and safety assessments, and room inspections
Manage and de-escalate challenging situations professionally
Keep accurate records and update client information systems
Work with external agencies and healthcare professionals
Support clients moving in and out of accommodation
What We’re Looking For
Experience working in mental health, housing, or a support environment
Understanding of mental health conditions, substance misuse, and homelessness
Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Confidence managing challenging behaviours in a professional way
Desirable:
Knowledge of welfare benefits and housing legislation
Experience in social housing or tenancy support
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
