About the role
Are you an experienced Counselling Psychologist looking to take on a 12 month fixed term contract? If so, join Middlewood Clinic in Sussex, a service which provides care and treatment for men and women who have an eating disorder including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and atypical Eating Disorders. Reporting directly to the Consultant Psychologist, you will be responsible for individual and group interventions, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, MDT working and risk assessments. As a Counselling Psychologist, you will have experience and knowledge in carrying a service user’s caseload, including assessing complex needs and designing and delivering specialist psychological treatments to support their care plans.

As a Psychologist you will be:
Undertaking high quality direct (assessment & therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory, and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions and making autonomous clinical decisions.
Formulating and implementing plans of specialist psychological treatment or management of patients’ mental health needs based on a multi-factorial psychological understanding and current evidence based best practise.
Maintaining high standards of care in all areas of practice and in accordance the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines and Company Policies and Procedures.
Have BPS recognised psychology degrees
Have Chartered Psychologist status and appropriate post-graduate qualifications
Have previous experience of conducting research and project working
Middlewood Clinic provide care and treatment for men and women who have an eating disorder including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and atypical Eating Disorders. The Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) at Middlewood Clinic will be made up of the Registered Manager, Consultant Psychiatrist, Nurses, Healthcare Workers, Psychologist, Dietician, Occupational Therapist and Social Worker.
The hospital will have 12 comfortable ensuite bedrooms (currently 7 beds are occupied) and a variety of communal and recreational spaces including lounge areas, a light and airy dining room, activities room, visitors room, therapy rooms, therapy kitchen area and a lovely cottage style garden.
