What does the WCA Doctor Assessor role involve?

The Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day on behalf of clients seeking WCA (Work Capability Assessment). A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a persons disability or health condition affects their ability to perform work-related activity. Youll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. Thats the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you dont. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.

• A GMC Registered Doctor with a license to practice and1 years or morebroad post-registration experience
• Someone whos proactive and keen to learn
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Competent IT and computer skills
• Comfortable working with a diverse range of conditions, including mental health
