Senior Mechanical Technical Services Manager – Data Centre Canary Wharf | £130M M&E Package | Up to £95K + Package This is not a maintenance role. This is not a coordination role hidden behind paperwork. This is a chance to take ownership of the full mechanical lifecycle on one of London’s major data centre projects. A leading contractor is looking for a Senior Mechanical Technical Services Manager to sit above an established MEP delivery team on a £130M M&E package in Canary Wharf. You’ll be the person connecting everything together: * Pre-construction * Design coordination * Mechanical installation * Programme delivery * Commissioning * Handover The project is already live with a strong MEP structure in place. What’s needed now is a Senior Mechanical Technical Services Manager who can lead from the front, drive standards, hold teams accountable and keep the entire mechanical package moving smoothly. The Role This is a 50/50 office and site-based position, focused on overseeing the bigger picture rather than day-to-day supervision. You’ll manage and coordinate the full mechanical delivery across: * Packaged plantrooms * Chillers * Water tanks * Pipework & plumbing * Cooling systems * HVAC infrastructure You’ll work closely with internal MEP teams and act as the key point of contact with the on-site contractor, Jones Engineering. That means this role needs more than technical ability. You need presence. Strong communication. The confidence to challenge, negotiate and lead meetings when required. What They’re Looking For The ideal Senior Mechanical Technical Services Manager will have: * Data centre project experience * Strong mechanical building services knowledge * Experience across the full project lifecycle * The ability to lead technical delivery from design through to handover * Strong coordination and programme management skills * The confidence to manage difficult conversations and drive accountability A tools background is not essential. What matters most is technical credibility, leadership and the ability to keep complex projects under control. If someone has the right attitude and strong foundations but isn’t quite at senior level yet, there is genuine willingness to coach and develop them.
