About the role
Health and Social Care Teacher
Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for an enthusiastic and talented Health and Social Care teacher to work at an exceptional College in Hull, starting ASAP and lasting until the end of the academic year (June 2026). This will initially start on a full time basis, before transitioning to a part time basis (2 or 3 days) after May half term. This is a maternity cover booking, so may extend in the future into the new academic year. Full planning and marking are expected for this position, so payment will be in line with the main teaching pay scale. This means you can expect to earn between £168.80 and £232.56 per day depending on experience and qualifications.
The school is based in Hull and is easily accessed via public transport from most areas of Hull. It has a fantastic reputation in the local area and is part of a small academy trust that is local to Hull and the East Riding. Success in this position may lead to future bookings in other trust secondary schools. There is a large onsite car park available for candidates that drive. They have a particularly strong Health and Social Care department that offers BTEC, A Level, and T Level qualifications.
You will be responsible for teaching Health and Social Care to Key Stage 5 students, specifically BTEC Level 3 and A Level students. You will be provided with planning, but some marking would be expected within this role. Experience teaching Health and Social Care to Level 3 students is preferable for this role.
Tradewind will also support your development during your placement and beyond through our fantastic CPD via The National College. You will be put onto all of the same CPD as permanent staff members, and encouraged to grow.
To join us and be successful in this role you will need to:
Has a PGCE or similar teaching qualification
Has experience teaching Health and Social Care to Key Stage 5 students.
Have experience working within schools in the UK
Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
