Johnson Controls isseekingan experienced and proactiveSite Supervisorwith a strongfire alarm engineering backgroundto oversee and support the delivery offire alarm servicing, gas suppression systems, and mechanical suppression systemsat a key static site in Teesside.
This role is ideal for someone who is not only confident leading others but is also technicallyhands-on, able to carry out maintenance tasks themselves, and committed tomaintainingthe highest standards of safety, compliance, and service delivery.
About the Role
As the Site Supervisor, you will lead a team ofon-siteengineers and subcontractors while also completingyour own planned and reactive maintenance tasks. You will ensure the effective delivery of all fire detection, gas suppression, and mechanical suppression services across the site.
You willbe responsible forplanned preventative maintenance, routine servicing,fault-finding, and remedial works on a range of systems, including:
Conventional and addressable fire detection systems
Networked and graphical fire alarm systems
Gas extinguishing systems (e.g.,Argonite, CO2,Inergen, Novec)
Mechanical fire suppression equipment and fire extinguishers
You will act as the primaryon-sitepoint of contact, ensuring smooth operations, strong client relationships, and full compliance withsite-specificsafety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Site Management
Lead, support, and coordinateon-siteengineers and subcontractors
Build strong working relationships with the client and ensurehigh levelsof customer satisfaction
Act as the main point of escalation for technical or operational issues
Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure all work meets required standards
Support the coaching, development, and onboarding of engineers and apprentices
Technical Delivery (Hands-On)
Personally carry out maintenance, servicing,fault-finding, and repairs on fire alarm systems
Support and oversee works on gas suppression and mechanical suppression systems
Perform integrity testing (training provided ifrequired)
Assistwith estimating, commissioning, and client training whererequired
Identifyand communicate remedial works, system deficiencies, and upgrade opportunities
Ensureaccuratecompletion of allon-sitedocumentation, daily work diaries, and service reports
Technical Delivery (Hands-On)
Personally carry out maintenance, servicing,fault-finding, and repairs on fire alarm systems
Support and oversee works on gas suppression and mechanical suppression systems
Perform integrity testing (training provided ifrequired)

Safety & Compliance
Conduct safety and quality audits to ensure compliance with legislation and company standards
Ensure all engineers followsite-specificsafety andhigh-hazardenvironment requirements
Promptlyidentifyand report health and safety concerns, near misses, and site hazards
Attend mandatory training andmaintainup-to-datecertifications
Ensure full adherence to RAMS, PPE requirements, toolbox talks, van audits, and accident investigations
Promote azero-harmculture and drive continuous improvement in safety performance
WhatWereLooking For
Essential
Strong experience working withfire detection and fire alarm systems(primary skillset)
Experience withgas suppression systems
Understanding ofmechanical fire suppression equipment
Ability and willingness to carry outhands-onmaintenance and servicing
Previoussupervisory or team leadership experience
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to inspire, influence, and build strong working relationships
Proactive approach toproblem-solvingand unexpected situations
Full UK driving license
Flexibility to travel for training whenrequired
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Desirable
Experience in highly regulated orhigh-hazardenvironments
Knowledge of passive fire protection
Experience coaching or developing engineers
