About the role

Finance Transactional Lead (Interim) Location: Hybrid (UK-based) Contract: Interim / Fixed-term Day Rate: £375 – £425 per day (DOE) The Opportunity We’re supporting a well-established, multi-entity UK business undergoing a period of transition within its finance function. They require an experienced Finance Transactional Lead to step in and ensure operational continuity, while also improving processes and preparing the ground for a permanent hire. What You’ll Be Doing You’ll take ownership of transactional finance operations, with a strong focus on process improvement, documentation, and stability : Map and document existing finance processes into clear, usable SOPs Identify inefficiencies and recommend automation or process improvements Support core finance operations including: Accounts Payable / Receivable Bank reconciliations Payment runs and cash management Assist with month-end and year-end close activities Provide support during audit periods, including preparation of schedules and reconciliations Work closely with senior finance stakeholders to assess team capacity and workload Deliver a structured and thorough handover for the incoming permanent hire What Success Looks Like Finance operations continue without disruption during the interim period Processes are clearly documented and easy to follow Reporting, reconciliations, and payments are delivered accurately and on time Audit requests are handled efficiently with minimal rework Practical recommendations are made to improve systems and workflows A clean, structured handover is delivered What We’re Looking For Essential: Strong background in transactional finance within a multi-entity environment Proven experience improving or streamlining finance processes Confident across core finance operations (AP, AR, reconciliations, reporting) Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data handling) Experience supporting audits and working to tight deadlines Ability to document processes clearly and methodically Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment Desirable: Experience working with ERP/accounting systems in complex environments Exposure to invoice financing or cashflow-driven reporting Previous experience in interim, transition, or handover roles Why Apply?
