Allocatetemporaryaccommodation,preventionandPRSOsinlinewiththeTemporaryAccommodationPlacementPolicyandsuitabilityassessment.
LettemporaryaccommodationandpreventionandPRSOsproperties,completingsignupsandprovidingappropriateadvicetocustomers.
RoleContext
Thispositionisfundamentaltotheprovisionofallocationsprocessesacrosstherangeofareasaffectingvulnerablecustomersonthehousingregister,intemporaryaccommodationandwhoarebeingassistedintotheprivaterentedsectortopreventhomelessnessordischargethehousingduty.
ThisisaspecialistrolethatrequiresgoodknowledgeofthelawrelatingtohousingallocationsaroundpartVIoftheHousingAct1996.
Thepostholderwillberequiredtohavegoodknowledgeofthelawaffectinghousingallocationsandbefamiliarwithotherhousingadviceandhomelessnesslegislation,othergeneralhousinglegislation,welfarebenefitexpertiseandknowledgeoftheadult&childrensocialcareenvironmentandimpactandtousethisknowledgetosupportcustomersandachievepositiveoutcomes.
ThepostholderwillberequiredtohaveknowledgeoftheHousingAct1996,theHomelessnessReductionAct2017,theChildrenAct,andtheCareAct.CombinedwithspecialistknowledgeoftheWelfareReformAct.
Thepostholderneedstousethisknowledgetoworkcollaborativelywithcustomerstoidentifythemostappropriateandeffectivesolutionstotheirhousingproblemsandtodosoproactivelyatthemostappropriatetimeensuringthemaximumopportunitiesforearlyintervention.
Thepostholderwillberequiredtobeinnovative,dynamicandsolutionsfocussedandconsiderandpursueallavailablehousingoptionstopreventthecustomersfrombecominghomeless.
Thepostholderwillberequiredtousetheirexperiencetocontributetotheongoingdevelopmentanddesignoftheserviceandsolutionsforcustomers.

AllocatepermanenthomesthroughacombinationofpreparingandanalysingshortlistsfromchoicebasedlettingsbiddersanddirectmatchinginlinewithdesignatedgroupsidentifiedbytheHousingAllocationsScheme.
Checkassessmentsremainuptodateandverifycircumstancesrobustlywhenhouseholdsareselectedforproperties,includingmakingchecksregardingapplicantsfinances,eligibility,localconnectionandsuitabilitytobeatenant.
Interviewapplicantsandcompletehomevisitsaspartoftheverificationprocess,aswellasdoingdesktopchecks.
