Job Title: Senior Social Work Practitioner – Mental Health Wellness Team (Locum)

Contract Type: Full-time Locum
Pay Rate: Up to £34.00 per hour
About the Role:
Redbridge Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Work Practitioner to join our Mental Health Wellness Team (MHWT). This is a full-time locum opportunity offering an engaging and impactful role within integrated mental health services.
As a Senior Practitioner, you will take a leadership role within the team, overseeing the allocation of social work cases, supervising mental health social work staff, and leading on safeguarding initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and support MH social work staff, including allocation of work within the MHWT.
* Lead on safeguarding within the team, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practice.
* Supervise AMHP staff and ensure appropriate oversight of assessments under the Mental Health Act.
* Provide expert guidance to colleagues and contribute to the ongoing development of team practice.
* Report directly to the MHWT Team Manager.
Essential Requirements:
* Qualified AMHP with substantial experience in mental health services.
* Demonstrable experience supervising social work staff in a mental health context.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and statutory responsibilities.
* Proven ability to work within multi-agency and integrated service settings.
