About the Opportunity A high-achieving and inclusive secondary school in Lambeth is working in partnership with a specialist education recruitment agency to appoint an ambitious and experienced Head of Biology .

This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding Biology teacher ready to step into leadership, or an established Head of Biology seeking a new challenge within a supportive and forward-thinking school.

The Role As Head of Biology, you will lead the Biology curriculum across Key Stages 35, driving excellence in teaching, learning and outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading and managing the Biology department
Designing and delivering a high-quality, ambitious Biology curriculum
Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to raise attainment
Coaching, mentoring and developing teaching staff
Ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and assessment
Contributing to whole-school improvement as part of the middle leadership team

The Ideal Candidate We are seeking a candidate who:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Has a strong academic background in Biology or a related field
Has a proven track record of outstanding teaching and results
Has experience leading a team or contributing to departmental improvement
Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and curriculum expertise
Is ambitious, organised and able to inspire both students and staff
