About the role

Quantity Surveyor We're supporting a leading contractor operating in the power and utilities space as they look to strengthen their commercial team with an Quantity Surveyor. This is a permanent opportunity to take a hands-on commercial role on a high-profile infrastructure scheme in London involving a significant cable route installation. You'll play a central part in safeguarding commercial performance across the project, working closely with delivery, engineering and supply-chain partners while operating under NEC contracts. The Role As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day commercial management of the project, ensuring strong cost control, accurate reporting and effective contractual administration throughout the project lifecycle. Key duties will include: Commercial management of NEC3/NEC4 contracts from commencement through to final account Oversight of subcontractor packages, including valuations, change management, claims and negotiations Preparation and presentation of cost reports, forecasts and commercial updates to project leadership Active management of compensation events, early warnings and change processes Supporting and mentoring other commercial team members on the project Working closely with operational teams to align commercial performance with programme and delivery Ensuring records, audit trails and commercial documentation remain accurate and compliant Developing strong, collaborative relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors Maintaining a visible site presence to support project and stakeholder requirements About You You'll be a commercially confident Quantity Surveyor with experience working on complex civil or electrical infrastructure projects, ideally within utilities or power-related environments.
