Welder

Connect Grp are looking for a Welder for a project in Colchester Starting Monday 11th May.  Working hours: 07.30am - 16.30pm ( 9 hours ) Day Rate: £25 per hour  Duration: 6 Months+ The successful candidate will be responsible for the fabrication, preparation, and TIG and MIG welding of carbon steel pipework ranging from 2"-10" diameter. This role involves working from technical drawings, fabricating pipe spools, and carrying out high-quality welds to project specifications. Key Responsibilities • TIG / MIG welding of carbon steel pipes (2"-10") to a high standard. • Fabricating pipework, fittings, and assemblies from drawings or verbal instruction. • Preparing and aligning pipework for welding and fit-up. • Conducting quality checks to ensure weld integrity and compliance. • Working safely and efficiently within workshop and site environments. • Maintaining equipment and ensuring a clean and safe work area. Requirements • Proven experience as a TIG and MIG Welder/Fabricator (pipework essential). • Strong background in carbon steel welding and fabrication. • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and isometrics. • Competent in weld preparation, fit-up, and finishing. • CSCS or CCNSG card (preferred). • Good attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
