Sheq Manager

Abatec is assisting their client with the recruitment of a SHEQ Manager to join a growing marine and civil engineering contractor on a permanent basis. This is a key role offering the opportunity to influence safety culture, drive continuous improvement, and support high standards across a diverse UK-wide project portfolio. Reporting to senior leadership, you will oversee SHEQ activities across the business, combining site presence with strategic input. As SHEQ Manager you will: * Work closely with site teams to promote best practice and strengthen safety behaviours * Carry out audits, inspections and compliance assessments across projects * Support and enhance integrated management systems and procedures * Partner with operational and leadership teams to drive continuous improvement * Leading or supporting incident investigations and ensuring effective follow-up actions * Contributing to emergency planning and response readiness where required. Our client is looking for a SHEQ Manager with: * NEBOSH Qualification (essential) * IOSH and/or environmental certifications * Demonstrable experience in a SHEQ-related role within relevant sectors * Strong understanding of UK health & safety and environmental legislation * Experience working with ISO management systems (e.g. 9001, 14001, 45001) * Flexibility to respond to operational demands, including occasional out-of-hours support Salary/benefits: * Salary £50,000 - £55,000 * Company car/car allowance * Pension contribution scheme * Ongoing professional development and training * + additional attractive benefits If you would like more information, or to apply for this vacancy, please contact Lloyd Barham on (phone number removed).
