Controls Engineer

Join a specialist engineering company at the forefront of ultra-precision motion and measurement systems. You will be part of a highly skilled team working on cutting-edge projects for advanced manufacturing, scientific research, and high-tech industries. They have an urgent requirement for a contractor to join them for 6 months in order to complete the commissioning of several bespoke machines. Please note this is an MoD project therefore UK passport is required. Control Systems Commissioning Engineer - Contract 6 Months Bedfordshire Ref: 23583 Control Systems Engineer with degree within electrical, automation or mechatronics field now sought to join a forward-thinking business in the design and manufacture of next generation precision machinery and motion systems. The Role: You will be working on highly integrated multi-axis machines and intelligent in-house developed systems including optical imaging, position sensors and laser based technologies You will be working as part of a small team – sometimes autonomously and often with direct customer contact – on the commissioning & optimisation of intelligent systems capable of high accuracy and dynamic response The Person: We are seeking candidates who are: Degree/HNC qualified with c3 years of experience Familiar with digital systems Experience of PLC and/or CNC Controls using Ladder Logic Knowledge and interest in one or more of the following: electrical design, digital communications, image processing, measurement technologies, programming Experience in programming in either C, C#, Matlab or Python Familiarity with CAD, CAM, FEA or CNC systems would also be beneficial Located in Bedfordshire, this role would be commutable from Milton Keynes, Bedford, Luton, Leighton Buzzard, Banbury, Northampton and Cambridge.
