We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Contracts Officer to join a local authority’s Procurement Service, supporting the Strategic Contracts Manager with the effective management of corporate contracts and procurement activity.
This is a varied role involving contract administration, performance monitoring, supplier management and procurement support. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, contract managers and delivery partners to ensure contracts are compliant, well managed and delivering value for money.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the day-to-day administration and management of strategic contracts.
- Monitor contract performance, payments, compliance and delivery against agreed requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of risks, issues, actions, changes and meeting outcomes.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, suppliers and delivery partners to ensure effective communication and governance.
- Assist with procurement projects, including tender documentation and evaluation processes.
- Analyse contract data and reports, identifying issues and supporting appropriate solutions.
- Support the use and development of electronic procurement and contract management systems.
- Research best practice and contribute to improving contract management processes.
- Ensure procurement and contract activity complies with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
About you:
You will have at least 2 years' experience in contract management and procurement, ideally providing advice or support to internal stakeholders. You should have a good understanding of professional purchasing principles and best practice procurement, with experience working across a multi-functional environment.
You will need to be organised, confident communicating with different stakeholders and able to manage and prioritise a varied workload. Strong IT skills are also required, particularly across Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. xwzovoh
Experience monitoring contract performance, analysing data and supporting supplier or contract management would be highly beneficial.
