Clinical Lead Pharmacist – Respiratory Medicine

Job summary**12 month maternity secondment**An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our friendly and forward-thinking team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking a pharmacist who is highly motivated, innovative and dynamic to lead the pharmacy clinical services within Respiratory medicine.Pharmacological management of respiratory diseases is a continually evolving field and this is the perfect opportunity for the post holder to develop and gain experience within an established advanced practice role, supported by the respiratory MDT to improve medicines safety within this specialty.Main duties of the jobYou will undertake a lead pharmacist role working closely with the respiratory multidisciplinary team. You will provide the pharmacy clinical service to the respiratory ward but also develop your own portfolio of advanced practice.Working within the multidisciplinary team you will provide pharmacist led asthma and ILD clinics, where you will initiate treatments with associated counselling review of relevant laboratory monitoring, and fulfil the relevant commissioning criteria through the blueteq system. You will support the provision of respiratory biologic medicines via homecare services and beresponsible for repeat prescribing of these medicines.You will lead respiratory biosimilar switches by supporting the clinical teams and through direct patient contactYou will provide clinical supervision and mentoring to pharmacists, nurses and medical staff within the team and proactively contribute to the wider medicines safety agendaAbout usThe pharmacy team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital is modern, pro-active, forward-thinking and well respected both locally and nationally.
