We’re recruiting three skilled Data Centre Shift Technicians to join a well-established team. This is a permanent, full-time role ideal for experienced engineers who thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
🔧 The Role
You’ll be responsible for maintaining and supporting all mechanical and electrical systems within a critical data centre environment, ensuring optimal performance, efficiency, and compliance at all times.
⚙️ What You’ll Be Doing
• Maintaining and repairing building mechanical & electrical systems and associated components
• Carrying out routine inspections, testing, and accurate record keeping
• Managing water systems in line with L8 legislation and compliance standards
• Conducting daily plant room and site walk-rounds to identify and resolve defects
• Monitoring environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, etc.) to meet operational requirements
• Operating and adjusting BMS systems to optimise HVAC performance and efficiency
• Responding promptly to helpdesk requests and resolving faults within SLA timeframes
• Managing defects from identification through to completion, including sourcing parts and raising purchase orders
• Coordinating and supervising subcontractors on-site
• Maintaining logbooks, records, and certification for compliance and audit purposes
• Reporting hazards, incidents, and updates to Shift and Operations Managers
• Identifying and implementing energy efficiency improvements
👷 What We’re Looking For
• Electrically or mechanically qualified engineer (multi-skilled preferred)
• Experience working in critical environments (e.g. data centres, hospitals, or similar)
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of BMS and HVAC systems
• Knowledge of compliance standards including water hygiene (L8)
• Ability to work effectively as part of a shift team
• Proactive, reliable, and detail-oriented approach
• Strong communication and organisational skills
