Velox Social Care is actively recruiting dedicated and compassionate Support Workers within the areas of Chelmsford, Colchester, Southend-On-Sea and Grays, Essex to work with Children and Young People (CYP) who are facing crisis situations and require structured, person-centred care and emotional support.
We’re seeking individuals who are passionate, resilient, and committed to making a genuine impact in the lives of vulnerable children—people who invest in the work they do and go above and beyond to support others to reach their full potential.
Your Role
As a CYP Support Worker, you will:
* Provide care and stability to children in crisis, using a calm, trauma-informed approach
* Offer emotional encouragement and promote positive behavioural support
* Maintain accurate daily records and reports
* Work collaboratively with your team, external agencies, and our dedicated Care Management Team
* Transport children to and from placements or appointments (drivers essential for certain roles)
Note: We are particularly interested in candidates who are drivers, as we have regular transport shifts available in the area.
Flexibility is essential as some CYPs require a mix of both long and short shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
* Right to Work in the UK (No sponsorship available)
* 6+ months UK experience working in a Children and Young People (CYP) setting
* 3 references (2 professional, 1 character)
* An in-date Physical Intervention Certificate
(If PMVA-trained, you must be willing to undertake Team Teach level 2 training through us)
* A current Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one)
