Job Title: Pathfinder Idependent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA)
Location: Black Country (Sandwell, Dudley, Walsall & surrounding areas)
Salary: £25,282.44 – £28,861.62 (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours (Monday–Friday)
About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate and proactive Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to support victims and survivors of domestic abuse across the Black Country.
You will provide frontline, trauma-informed support, helping individuals to stay safe, understand their options, and navigate services including the Family Court. This role involves working closely with partner agencies to advocate for clients and ensure their voices are heard.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one, trauma-informed support to victims/survivors of domestic abuse and their children
Conduct comprehensive risk and needs assessments (including DASH) and develop effective safety plans
Act as the main point of contact for clients, supporting them throughout their journey, including court proceedings where required
Advocate on behalf of clients with statutory and voluntary agencies, ensuring their needs and risks are clearly communicated
Prepare clear, accurate reports and documentation for court and partner agencies
Support clients to understand their rights, options, and the support available to them
Work in partnership with multi-agency professionals to manage risk and improve outcomes for clients
Maintain accurate, confidential case records and manage a complex caseload effectively
Identify safeguarding concerns and take appropriate action in line with policies and procedures
Signpost and refer clients to additional support services where appropriate
Requirements
Experience of working with vulnerable individuals, ideally within domestic abuse or related services
Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment, and safety planning
Strong understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on victims and families
Excellent communication, advocacy, and report-writing skills
Ability to manage a varied caseload and meet deadlines
Experience working within a multi-agency environment
Competent IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Office and case management systems)
