About the role

Prospero Teaching are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Primary SEN Teacher to join a specialist setting supporting pupils with autism and communication needs in Virginia Water, Surrey. This is a full-time, long-term role with an immediate start, and pay will be in line with the teacher pay scale. The successful candidate will be teaching a class of pupils in Years 3–6, all of whom have EHCPs. You will be supported by a strong team including a Senior Teaching Assistant and multiple Teaching Assistants within the classroom. Vacancy Details * Position: SEN Class Teacher (Primary) * Year Groups: Groups 3-6 * Class Size: 8 Max * Classroom Support: 3 Teaching Assistants * Contract: Full-time (Monday–Friday) * Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm * Duration: Long-term, cover (potentially the full summer term) * Start Date: Immediate * Salary: Paid to according to your teaching scale * Setting: Specialist provision for pupils with ASD and communication, behavioural & interaction needs * Interviews: Immediate Key Responsibilities * Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with a range of SEN needs (Initial planning already available) * Creating a nurturing, structured, and inclusive learning environment * Leading and working collaboratively with support staff * Implementing effective behaviour and communication strategies * Monitoring progress and completing assessments in line with curriculum expectations * Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development Requirements * Experience teaching in an SEN setting, ideally with ASD and behavioural needs. (QTS not essential) * Strong classroom management and differentiation skills * A patient, adaptable, and resilient approach * Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one) Additional Information As this is a longer-term placement, candidates will be expected to take on full teaching responsibilities including planning and assessment.
