Job Title: Senior Design Engineer Location: Peterborough (5 days onsite) Rate: £47.04 per hour Contract Length: 24 months Overview: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Design Engineer to support major new product development programmes within a globally recognised engineering environment.

This role focuses on delivering robust design solutions for advanced engine systems.
Key Responsibilities: Design and development of engine components (castings, geartrain, valvetrain, drivetrain, in-cylinder components) Support system-level design (cooling, lubrication, breather, FEAD) Lead project tasks and manage deliverables Perform FMEA and risk analysis Create and release engineering drawings and documentation Work closely with suppliers using APQP methodologies Participate in design reviews and validation activities Requirements: Minimum 6 years' experience in design engineering Advanced CAD skills (Creo preferred) Strong understanding of IC engine systems and components Knowledge of casting, machining, and manufacturing processes Experience with assembly principles and design validation Excellent communication and teamwork skills Desirable Skills: Experience with Teamcenter or similar systems Background in FMEA xwzovoh and validation processes Off-highway or diesel engine experience Knowledge of alternative fuels or spark ignition systems Familiarity with APQP Additional Information: 5 days onsite (flexibility aligned with business needs) Long-term contract with strong project pipeline APPLY NOW to be part of a forward-thinking engineering team working on innovative and sustainable solutions.
