Are you an experienced English Teacher or English ECT searching for a high-performing secondary school with excellent student behaviour and attainment?

An Outstanding school in the Inner London Borough of Bexley are searching for a Head of English to join the team. The school boasts Progress 8 results in the top 1% nationally, well behaved students, extensive pastoral support and lot's of bespoke CPD.

We are looking for a Head of English that can confidently teach and lead the English department of 12 teachers. As Head of English you will have a reduced timetable which can be catered to your preferences, i.e majority KS5.

JOB DESCRIPTION - HEAD OF ENGLISH

• Head of English
• Full time, permanent contract
• Commencing in September 2026
• Outer London Payscale
• Competitive Offers of either MPS/UPS + TLR or Leadership Scale

PERSON SPECIFICATION - HEAD OF ENGLISH

• Qualified English Teacher / Head of English with UK QTS
• Clear spoken and written English is essential
• Recent 'Good' or 'Outstanding' observations
• Experience teaching in a multicultural area with high PP desirable
• Genuinely ambitious for all students to achieve their best, whether that's a C or A*
