Secondary School - Graduate Cover Supervisor (Psychology Graduate)
Monday - Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Pay: £90-£120 per day (depending on experience)

We are working with a well-regarded Secondary School in Braintree, rated GOOD by Ofsted, that is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Psychology graduate to join as a Cover Supervisor. This Braintree school is passionate about developing future educators and offers excellent progression opportunities into teaching, pastoral roles, or further specialist support positions.
Job Overview:
* This school caters for students aged 11-16.
* Full-time, Monday - Friday, Graduate Cover Supervisor role.
* Deliver pre-set lessons across a range of subjects in the absence of the class teacher.
* Support students with a range of needs, including behavioural and emotional support.
* Apply your understanding of psychology to support student engagement and wellbeing.
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
* Work closely with teaching staff, SEN teams, and pastoral leads.
* Provide feedback on student progress, behaviour, and engagement.
This role offers clear progression routes, including teacher training opportunities, routes into educational psychology, SEN support roles, and pastoral leadership pathways. The school actively supports professional development and is committed to helping graduates build long-term careers in education.
What we're looking for:
* A degree in Psychology (or related field).
* A strong interest in education, child development, or mental health.
* Experience working with young people (desirable but not essential).
* Confident, resilient, and adaptable approach to classroom environments.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
