Banking / Finance Administrator

A well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Pickering is recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller to join their finance team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on and commercially focused finance professional to take ownership of the finance function within a multi-site business. Offering a competitive salary of £55,000–£65,000, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to make a real impact. Reporting into the Group Finance Director, the Financial Controller will: Oversee all finance operations across multiple sites, ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting, and effective cashflow management Lead and support a small finance team — getting involved in the day-to-day where needed, while driving continuous improvement and best practice Take ownership of monthly management accounts, presenting insightful analysis and commentary to the Senior Leadership Team Deliver budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc financial analysis to support key commercial decisions and drive business performance Oversee payroll, VAT, and balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining accuracy, compliance, and process efficiency Partner with operations and site managers to provide commercial insight around costs, margins, and productivity Review and develop financial systems and processes to support the business’s growth and improve reporting capability Lead the preparation of statutory accounts and coordinate the annual audit process with external partners Qualified or part-qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA, or qualified by experience with proven success in a similar Finance Manager or Financial Controller role within manufacturing or engineering Strong technical background with hands-on experience in management accounting, costing, and financial reporting Proficient in Excel and experienced with accounting systems such as Sage, Xero, or SAP Commercially astute, proactive, and adaptable — comfortable balancing day-to-day operations with strategic finance responsibilities If you are interested in this Financial Controller opportunity, click the apply button now.
