About the role
SEN Learning Support Assistant | 1:1 | Year 1/2 – Carlisle
Humly is recruiting a SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a primary school on a long-term basis.
This is a full-time role starting 27/04/2026 and continuing until 17/07/2026. This role would suit a patient and dedicated individual who enjoys working 1:1 with pupils and can provide consistent, tailored support to help a child with additional needs thrive within a Year 1/2 setting.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Support a pupil on a 1:1 basis with their learning and development
* Adapt classroom activities to meet the pupil’s individual needs
* Build a strong, positive relationship to support engagement and confidence
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies
* Encourage participation in lessons and social interaction with peers
What You’ll Bring
* Experience working with children with additional needs, ideally in a primary setting
* A patient, nurturing approach with strong interpersonal skills
* Confidence supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis
* Good understanding of behaviour management strategies
* Ability to work consistently as part of a wider classroom team
Pay
£15.46 per hour
