About the role

Social Worker, Early Intervention & Prevention Service - PKC13702 £Perth & Kinross Council aims to work with the residents of the Perth & Kinross area to provide independent living across all communities. The Early Intervention & Prevention Service is a small team working as the first point of contact for adults accessing Social Work Services the purpose of this team is to screen cases to appropriate services and work only with the complex cases not known to social work. The work is directed at critical and short term interventions, focusing on positive engagement and change prior to progressing to long term intervention. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly innovative team, the work is extremely fast paced and varies each day with excellent training, supervision provided. Responsibilities also include statutory work under the Adult Support and Protection Act and delivering a duty service and completing welfare checks. Effective time management, the ability to be flexible and responding to crisis / competing demands are integral to the role.  A good understanding of Self Directed Support and how this is delivered is essential. The ability to integrate and cultivate successful links within the team and across services is highly desirable.   Knowledge of services, challenges, demands, and demographics within PKC would be an advantage.  You must have experience of assessment of Social and Personal Care needs along with experience of assessing and managing risk.   You must be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of social work principles and values; Experience of Adult Support and Protection Procedures and all relevant legislation. You must have a DIPSW, CQSW, CSS and relevant Social Work Qualifications.  You must have significant experience of Adult Social Work.  You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post and service requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
