Off to Work is recruiting a passionate and experienced Kitchen Manager to lead the kitchen of a well-established, much-loved village pub just 10 miles outside Reading. The food offering is all about quality, consistency and comfortfreshly cooked pub classics, from midweek favourites to traditional Sunday roasts done properly.
This is not a box-ticking management role. Its a genuine opportunity to make your mark, shape the menu, build a strong kitchen culture and enjoy a healthier balance between work and life.
The Role As Kitchen Manager, you will take full ownership of the kitchen, including:
Leading, mentoring and motivating the kitchen team day to day
Managing food ordering, stock control and wastage
Playing a hands-on role in menu development and dish creation
Ensuring allergen information and dish costings are accurate and compliant
Maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness and organisation in a busy service environment
The Venue An independently run, popular village pub with a loyal local following
Known for classic pub food and well-regarded Sunday roasts
Supportive ownership with freedom to innovate and influence the menu
Located in Streatley on Thames own transport or local residence required
The Package Up to £35,000 per annum , paid hourly
Average 40 hours per week for genuine worklife balance
Creative control over menus and kitchen operation
A stable, long-term role in a respected local business
