Electrical Engineer Salary/Rate £38000 - £40000/annum extensive Benefits Location CB3, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire Posted 23/03/2026 Company Marshall Recruitment Description We are currently recruiting on behalf of the University of Cambridge for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their First Response team within the Estates Division. This is an excellent opportunity to work in one of the world’s most prestigious university environments, helping to maintain critical electrical building services that support teaching, research, and day-to-day campus operations. The Role Working under the supervision of the Electrical Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring that electrical building services across the estate are safe, compliant, and maintained to the highest standard. You will respond to maintenance issues and emergencies, helping to ensure maximum uptime of facilities while minimising disruption to the University’s academic and research activities. The role is part of a multi-disciplinary First Response team, made up of in-house engineers and specialist contractors. You will sometimes work independently and at other times as a senior member of the team, applying your experience across a variety of electrical systems and occasionally mechanical services.
