About the role

Apprentice Planning Officer Location: Blackpool Salary: £21,021 You will be supporting the Planning Officers with the effective planning and co-ordination of the repairs service. To maximised productivity, ensuring appointment are made and kept and right first time across our in-house operational resource. Sustaining a strong customer focus, ensuring service standards are maintained to increase customer satisfaction. What you’ll be doing as an Apprentice at Great Places.... * Proactively manage repairs for in house operatives to maximise productivity and reduce/recover out of target jobs. * Ensure appointments are made and kept within agreed service standards and KPI’s, keeping customers informed with any changes to the schedule within a timely manner. * Schedule jobs based on priority, skill set, availability, location and customer needs, utilising relevant contractors when required. * Update housing management and scheduling systems with accuracy in record keeping in real time. * Point of contact for colleagues for repair related queries ensuring effective use of the telephony system for both inbound and outbound calls with a professional manner. * Maintain a strong customer focus to promote excellence in customer satisfaction and enable first time fix resolution wherever possible. * Working to support the wider planning team as and when required What We are looking for....... * A commitment to providing excellent customer service * A team player who brings a positive, helpful attitude * Someone who is flexible and adaptable * A good listener who takes pride in detail and follow-through * Someone open to learning and developing their skills and experience * Someone who demonstrates Initiative What you’ll need…. * Curious, can-do attitude and a desire to make a difference * Commitment to completing your apprenticeship and engaging with the Growing Greatness development programme * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Keen eye for detail and good organisational skills * GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above would be beneficial * Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel) * Ability to work as part of a team, as well as using your own initiative and time management skills to deliver tasks on time * Commitment to observe and comply with all policies / procedures / working practices / regulations and in particular Great Places Equality and Diversity Policy, Health and Safety Policy and Safeguarding Policy How we support you and your career at Great Places.... * A fully accredited apprenticeship/ qualification plus additional short qualifications to aid in your development * Full equipment to help you perform best at your role * Dedicated time each week for studying and learning * Mentorship and line management from senior professionals * A warm, inclusive team where your ideas and growth matter * Opportunities to shadow across the business and contribute to the social housing sector * Access to our Growing Greatness talent programme including workshops, networks, and development activities * Support from our Emerging Talent and Development Specialist which will include reviews, check-ins and the opportunity to discuss your progress Closing date: 11th May 2026 Shortlist date: 12th May 2026 Interview date: Assessment Day: Early June/ Final Stage Interview: June 2026
