Job Title: Nursery Nurse (Early Years Practitioner)
Location: Wigan
Contract: Full-time or Term-time Only
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a fantastic private nursery in Wigan for a dedicated and caring Nursery Nurse (Early Years Practitioner). This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic early years professional who is passionate about supporting young children in a nurturing, play-based environment.
In this role, you will be working as part of a friendly nursery team, supporting children through their early development and helping to create a safe, stimulating, and caring environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the nursery team in delivering high-quality early years care and learning
Provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children aged 0-5
Support children's development through play-based activities and exploration
Assist with personal care routines including feeding, toileting, and hygiene
Promote early communication, language, social, and emotional development
Observe, assess, and record children's progress in line with EYFS guidelines
Build strong, caring relationships with children and families
Essential Criteria:
Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting
Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (or equivalent)
Strong understanding of child development and the EYFS framework
A warm, patient, and caring approach to working with young children
Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
Desirable:
Experience working with babies and toddlers as well as preschool-aged children
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and nursery best practice
Experience supporting children with additional needs or EAL
