Senior Engineer

We're looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Kier Design team based in Coventry.

Location: Coventry - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required.
Hours: 37 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Salary: Starting from £51,000 per annum

As a Senior Engineer within Kier Design, you'll lead the delivery of civil and structural engineering services across a range of infrastructure projects. Working within the Structures & Geotechnical team, you'll help develop safe, buildable Permanent Works solutions, support tenders and live projects, and collaborate closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile schemes while progressing your career within Kier's nationally recognised in-house consultancy.

• Are you an experienced engineer who can lead Permanent Works design to deliver safe, buildable solutions?

• Do you have a professional qualification (CEng/IEng) or equivalent experience, plus a full UK driving licence?
• Do you have experience delivering civil and structural Permanent Works design for infrastructure projects?

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Engineer, you'll be working within the Structures & Geotechnical team, supporting them in delivering safe, buildable, and cost-effective solutions from concept to delivery. Your day to day will include:

• Leading Permanent Works design across Kier Design's infrastructure portfolio
• Providing technical input to bids with buildable, innovative concepts
• Reviewing and providing technical assurance of third-party designs
• Undertaking site visits, inspections and surveys, providing advice on safety matters
• Fulfilling Job Leader responsibilities, including client liaison, design delivery, and workload planning

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Engineer is great for you if:

• You have a Level 6/7 qualification and CEng/IEng professional qualification (or equivalent experience)
• You have strong experience leading civil and structural infrastructure design
• You hold a Full driving licence
• You're confident coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing design inputs and outputs
• You're passionate about working for a collaborative, trusted, and delivery-focused organisation
• You're experienced with rail or water sector standards
• You have knowledge of WIMES or Minimum Asset Standards
• Have exposure to water or wastewater treatment environments
• Have previous M&E design experience (e.g. simple hydraulics, pump selection etc)
