Transport Shift Manager

Overview of role Location: Belfast Annual Salary: £Negotiable Closing Date: 25th September 2026 We are looking for a Transport Front Line Manager with proven management experience within the FMCG sector, preferably within the Food sector.

You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of drivers and transport coordinators to ensure the safe delivery and/or collection of all goods to/from our customers and in accordance with all legal and company requirements.

In the short term the working pattern will be flexible covering days, nights and weekends.

To ensure all drivers receive a daily debrief and the Transport Management Team are updated daily on performance.

To ensure all shift members are aware of and comply with environmental, health and safety, legal and company standards and that all shifts operate in compliance with the team.

To ensure optimal labour utilisation, by making best use of the Company Scheduling Systems and labour flexibility.

To recruit, train and develop Drivers and Coordinators who reflect the Company's values and who possess the necessary knowledge, skills, attitudes and qualifications to perform effectively.

To execute continuous improvement action plans (e.g.

PDP initiatives, productivity improvements etc), to ensure that targets are achieved.

To ensure that any service issues arising are addressed promptly and where appropriate, escalated as required.

The Right Person Essential 2
- 5 years experience managing teams within a transport, logistics, distribution, or operational environment Experience working within a manufacturing, FMCG, or distribution environment.

Strong knowledge of transport compliance and health & safety requirements.

Ability to build good working relationships with employees, customers and suppliers.

Good leadership skills with a confident, open and honest style of communicating.

A strong customer focus, always willing to go the extra mile to deliver a good service.

An analytical thinker, capable of making effective decisions in a fast paced environment.

Self motivated with passion, enthusiasm, tenacity and resilience.

Lead by example with the "Safety First" message.

Desirable CPC qualification or knowledge of Operator Licence requirements.
