Specialist SEN School | Full-Time | Permanent / Long-Term
£37,868 – £56,154 per annum (Outer London Teacher Pay Scale) | Immediate or September Start
Are you a passionate Primary Teacher looking to make a genuine impact within a specialist SEN setting?
A well-established specialist SEN school in North London is seeking a committed and adaptable Primary SEN Teacher to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly supportive environment focused on helping pupils with autism, communication needs, SEMH and complex learning difficulties achieve both academically and personally.
The school provides a nurturing and structured approach to education, placing a strong emphasis on communication, emotional regulation, independence and holistic development. Staff work collaboratively to create engaging and accessible learning experiences tailored to individual pupil needs.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching across the primary phase while supporting pupils with a range of additional needs. The role would suit both experienced SEN practitioners and strong mainstream teachers looking to transition into specialist education.
Key responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with SEND and SEMH needs
Create a calm, structured and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and emotional regulation
Adapt teaching strategies to meet a wide range of learning profiles and communication needs
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and wider professionals to support pupil outcomes
Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress in line with EHCP targets and individual learning plans
Implement positive behaviour strategies using a consistent and relationship-led approach
Build strong relationships with pupils, families and external agencies
Contribute to the wider school community and ongoing development of inclusive practice
We are looking for someone who:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Has experience teaching within primary, SEND or specialist settings
Has a strong understanding of inclusive teaching and adaptive xwzovoh classroom practice
Can build positive relationships with pupils who may present with additional behavioural or communication needs
Is calm, resilient and passionate about supporting vulnerable young people
Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
