I’m currently leading a search for a Lead HV Plant Design Engineer for a leading contractor in Scotland who work on power and renewables projects up to 400kV across the UK.
As a Lead HV Plant Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing the core electrical components of substations, ensuring they are efficient, safe, and fully compliant with relevant standards. This role combines deep electrical engineering expertise with strong project management capability and requires close coordination with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
You will act as the technical authority across projects, leading design activities, mentoring engineers, and ensuring successful delivery of substation infrastructure that supports reliable power transmission and distribution..
The Essentials:

Experience: 7+ years of primay/HV plant substation design experience, with a strong preference for those who have delivered projects for Scottish Power and SSE.

Qualifications: Degree in Electrical Engineering

Location: Glasgow
*
Package: £65,000 – £85,000 (dependent on experience)
