Hays are recruiting for an experienced HR Manager to join a public sector organisation in Ipswich at a pivotal time of transformation. With large-scale organisational change underway and the move to new unitary councils on the horizon, this is a rare opportunity to be part of something genuinely impactful, helping to shape how HR services are delivered in the future.
Your new role This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll take ownership of HR operations while also contributing to wider change initiatives. As an experienced HR Manager, you'll lead a broad range of operational and advisory HR activities and also work closely with the Employee Relations Manager. You will:
- Lead key HR functions including HR administration, payroll/HRIS, and learning & development
- Act as a trusted advisor on HR and employment law matters
- Support and guide complex employee relations cases
- Drive improvements in HR processes, systems, and service delivery
- Build strong relationships across the organisation
- Support organisational change, including restructures and transformation activities
What you'll need to succeed You’ll be a confident and credible HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- CIPD Level 5 (or above)
- Strong generalist HR experience including TUPE, organisational change
- Experience leading or developing teams
- Excellent knowledge of employment law and working with trade unions
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
